Designing a Custom Mitral Valve Sewing Cushion
Beginning with a CT of the patient's affected anatomy, I used Materialize Mimics (a medical image reconstruction tool) to segment the patient's heart out from surrounding tissues and bones.

From this, I was able to obtain an STL of the patient's heart. I then imported this STL into Fusion 360 so that I could use the geometry of the mitral valve for reference when designing the mitral valve cushion.
The finished sewing cushion was created by sweeping a 5mm diameter circle along a 3D spline.

The sewing cushion was then inspected to ensure that it would comfortably fit into the bounds of the patient's mitral valve.
Here is a rendering of the final product!
